Hey mates,
Practical
We met up with some friends during the week. This couple both work and have a couple of toddlers under 5, so they’re not exactly abundant in free time at the moment.
I mentioned to my friend my plans for building and buying websites and he casually mentioned that he’d started a blog recently that was getting some traction - he currently works a fairly high pressure job at a big 4 bank. Nothing like a bit of peer pressure (in a way) to whip you into shape. I felt super inspired (and a little embarrassed as I’ve been ‘learning’ how to do this for a long while now and not really made any progress) to get my act together and get my first website out there. Nek minute (or the next day) I have version one of our website live. This is the website that was the reason for the instagram page purchase that I mentioned last week.
I’m grateful to him for his hustle in just learning as he goes and for inspiring me to get out there and have a go.
So that’s the latest here, on a steep learning curve fumbling my way through getting setup with a WordPress site.

Peaceful
I recently discovered this fella Seve from Finland on YouTube, he’s a massive chiller. I really resonate with his slow and simple living principles. I feel an instant drop in any anxiety I may have when I watch his stuff.
In a fairly recent clip of his, he talked about how he keeps everything organised, helping to keep his mind clutter-free. I’ve watched plenty of these types of vids and they’re often full of apps and stuff - maybe it’s just my simple brain though they always feel overwhelming. The simple system he uses looks great and I’ve since fired up my Notion account again to start organising my mind a bit, it’s been great.
This is that clip 👉
Book I’m reading:
Energize - Make the most of every moment. By Simon Alexander Ong.
This bloke is a life coach that I first heard interviewed on the Ali Abdaal podcast.
Basically it’s all about how to find/have/be more energy in our lives. From more traditional health stuff like drink water, sleep and exercise to more mindset stuff, which I find really interesting. For example, one section is on Gratitude - “Gratitude is one of the fastest ways towards feeling energised when we’re feeling low.” 🤯 Dunno about you, though I’ve never connected gratitude and feeling more energy.
Face of the week - I have a weird 7th sense of noticing faces or images in things. This week inside our washing basket thing, from a bit of residual water, I found a bear holding a clog? Or na, you’ve lost the plot mate?
DJOTHW - dad joke of the week
What do you call someone with no body and no nose? Nobody knows.
Catch ya next week ✌️
